Dapples of Sunlight

Leaves between us and the Sun
Dapple the Waters of the Stream
Dappled again by the moving of the Waters
Stirred and swirled by the naked playing of the Innocents

Dappled also the rocky banks
Except for the patch of summer sunlight
the right size for my blanket
Spread for the protection of a perfect body

(Gathering Strength - Dana Tiger)

Will you lie with me
On the stony bank of the stream?
Will you accept my robe in this place
Spread for the comfort of our naked bodies?

I will lie with you
On the stony bank of the stream
I will accept your robe in this place
Spread for the comfort of our perfect bodies.

And I will lie with you
On the tops of high places
And on the floors of valleys cool and still
And in the buffalo grass and in the cool sweet clover.

And I will lie with you forever
Until the mountains are no more
Until the grasses no longer go green in any spring
Until the rivers no longer remember

That once we were
And that forever we are
Naked Innocents
Who play in streams.
