EPITAPH

I am not here.
I am not gone.

All I ever wanted was to live and die a
Natural Man.

Now I am returned to
Nature

If you miss me
look to the mountains and the rivers and the waterfalls
If you miss me
look to the hawk and the wolf and the buffalo
If you miss me
look to the dawn and the morning mists and the sunset

If you would hear my voice
listen to Thunderer and the murmur of brooks and the howl of the wolf
If you would hear my voice
listen to the first cries of the new-born and the last prayers of the
Native Peoples
If you would hear my voice
listen to the crash of the waves and the singing of the breezes

If you would speak to me
speak to the thunder and the lightening and the blue of the sky
If you would speak to me
speak to the storm and the calm and the smoke from the sacred fires
If you would speak to me
speak to all that you believe and all that you know is true; I will answer

If you would remember me
remember The People and the Trail of Tears and Wounded Knee
If you would remember me
remember the Warrior's Code and love for one's people and honor
If you would remember me
remember the love that lives into eternity and cannot die

I am not here
I am not gone
